This weekend was truly a whirlwind, and definitely more social than I’m currently used to!
On Friday I met up with some girlfriends after Rachel went to bed. She’s been sleeping much better lately, so I’ve been feeling actually pretty well rested (knock wood). My dear friend Michelle is getting married in two weeks!! I’m so excited for her. Jess, Lindsey, and I were unable to attend her bachelorette party in Fredericksburg (so jealous of those who got to go!) so decided to have a little shindig for her here. I met up with the ladies at Glass Wall for dessert (they had already eaten dinner, I ate at home before baby bedtime) and wine. Then we ventured out to what is my personal new favorite hangout (I’m late to the game), Corkscrew. It’s such a fun wine and piano bar!
We indulged with a bottle of Cycles Gladiator Pinot Noir….
And Lindsey and I capped the evening off with a Moscow Mule – delicious!
Made it home by 11:30 and snuck in some decent sleep before Rach woke up hungry at 6am. I was supposed to run but it’s so hard to motivate with my family in town and a gross drizzly day. You don’t have to TRAIN for Ironman, right?
Got in 4 miles though! Then had to head out for my pub crawl fundraiser. It was fun like always and we made the most of a rainy St. Patrick’s Day! Raised just over $1,000.00 for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (but I’m still a few hundred away from my goal if you want to donate). Shoutout to JR and Houston Screen Print for our awesome shirts; I highly recommend them for all of your screen printing needs!
Book club on the town?
Double trouble.
Sunday was another lazy day of baby snuggles! My parents headed back to Dallas around noon.
She’s getting the hang of the Bumbo.
I got in an hour trainer ride and another two miles of running. Better than nothing, right?
YIKES…..5/17/14. More on this later.

I am so.very.jealous of Rachel’s sleep schedule! Mine won’t crash til 9 or 9:30 pm and is up and ready to go at 7:30- I’d happily take earlier rising for another couple of hours at night! So glad your pub crawl went well despite the rain!
Yeah, I wish I could say I’m confident it is related to her eat/play/sleep schedule, but something tells me it’s just luck of the draw. I thought we were going through sleep regression (had several sleepless nights a week ago), but now that she’s sucking her thumb, it’s back to sleeping through the night 8pm-6am (knock wood).
She is getting big! Her wittle face is changing.
Yes, any training is better than no training. And you had a busy weekend , so whatever!
I knowwwww so chubby and cute! Yeah, I’m pretty blase about training right now. I’ll just see what happens….at least I’m doing SOME training, I guess!!
