IMTX 2014 Training, Week 4

This week was a little bit better than last. I didn’t skip so many workouts and I made myself actually focus the slightest bit…

Monday: Off

Tuesday: 5 miles fartlek run – first time in a long time using a 9:1 run/walk interval. Even with the walking I averaged 10:45, so I’m ok with that. Just want to get it down to 10:00 before 2/8. Made myself push harder on the last minute of these intervals.

Wednesday: 3 miles easy – used 4:1 interval, averaged 11:00.

Thursday: Off

Friday: 4 miles tempo. Something clicked on this run and I ran the 4 at 10:00 flat non-stop. It felt easy! Which probably means I wasn’t pushing hard enough but oh well, best to not push it too hard.

Ready to brave the cold.

My scheduled long workouts had to be put on hold this weekend as I ventured to NYC for 24 hours to surprise one of my oldest and best friends (Rachel!) at her bachelorette party. It was hard being away from baby Rachel, but I’m so glad I went since I cannot be at her wedding.

Off to run 11 miles! That’s the goal…
