Some photos from the weekend…
My mom came in town and we drove up to the outlets in Cypress to kill time while on baby watch. I happened to see if there was a McAlister’s up there since I love their veggie club wrap and there isn’t one in Houston. Lo and behold…
The wrap wasn’t as good as I have had it before, but the sweet tea and potato salad is still clutch. It’s a fav.
The only bare belly pic to be shown this pregnancy. I don’t know why I don’t take them, but here goes.
Full grown newborn in there, folks.
As my sister pointed out, I need to clean our mirrors. Can you tell which sink is mine? Hint – the messy one behind me.
And people wonder why I don’t sleep well…
Charlie spends most days snoozing behind me while I work.
He is snoring in my ear…
Do you have Weird Facts app on your phone? It’s a fun way to kill time (while, say, you wait at your doctor’s appointment).
That’s disgusting, dude. I bet I can count my sodas per year on both hands. But I don’t like the taste.
Ok, baby update. I’ve been hesitant to get TMI on the blog but since I know I want to post her birth story (who doesn’t love a good birth story? I LOVE THEM!), I figure what the hell. So I’ve been HELLA frustrated because for the past three weeks I’ve been at least 4cm and 70% effaced – which means I’m practically halfway dilated and almost all of the way thinned out - for those who don’t know, your cervix has to open up and get shorter for the baby to come out, just how it works. Also something I didn’t think I’d have to explain but have, more than once? Your cervix and your vagina are actually different. Whaaaaaat.
And the baby as of last week is at zero station – meaning her head is totally locked and loaded in my pelvic bone, she’s just snoozing in there. WAY TOO COZY. My doctor has said for weeks that we can expect her anytime, but she still doesn’t show. So now my only option might be a medical induction, which is scheduled for Monday. I really hope she decides to show up before then, but hell. She might not. Thanks a lot. I don’t know how, but Shane is totally responsible for this. My doctor said I could be induced tomorrow, Thursday, or Monday. So of course I opted for Monday, let’s wait and see if she comes on her own. PLUS I have some plans this weekend (what? I thought I’d have a 2 week old by then). Not cool, baby. NOT COOL. So fine, you wanna wait til Monday? Great. But that’s it. You’re coming out after that. Get ready.

In case McAlisters craving hits- there is one on UH campus in the Welcome Center parking garage shops. Conveniently, the Welcome Center parking garage has 30 minute free parking, plenty of time for a to go order. Or eat there amongst college students and pay $3 or so for parking, whatevs. And I feel you on the baby who just likes to hang out down low- mine might have been early, but she managed to come out of a c-section with a hell of a cone head.
Thanks! I think I had heard that before. Good to know for when I’m down that way… Hah! I didn’t even think about the conehead aspect. I hope I see that head soon!
You will be glad you took that picture. I have some the day before Tyson was born, and while I didn’t feel like I was THAT big…looking back, I can’t even believe that was me. It is cah-razy!
Don’t you feel good that you have provided such a comfy home that she isn’t in a hurry??? =) That is why I was glad they didn’t check my progress too much…it can give false hope. T-Dog was WAY down in my pelvis for something like 6 or so weeks. I knew it because I could feel his hiccups, but Ryan didn’t believe me until the doctor confirmed it. It didn’t mean SHIT though. hahaha. He didn’t come when the doctor thought either.
Yeah I have no idea how people go into labor and are like 1cm, and I’m the opposite – chillin at 4cm, NOTHING. What the hell. Guess it really doesn’t mean jack!
Whoa. Reading about where you’ve been for three weeks in terms of Baby Gins’ progress is mind-blowing to me. 4 cm and 70% for three weeks!?! Listen here, little lady! Get the memo. It’s eviction time! I would be walking around everywhere just waiting for the water to break!
In all seriousness though, you look amazeballs. Way better than I expect to look at the end of this crazy pregnancy journey.
Yer damn right, it’s time for her to leave. I am trying to message her telepathically and tell her to GET OUT.
Ugh, thanks – I feel giant. Who are you kidding, you look awesome!
Not gonna lie, your bare baby belly is adorable. I know you can’t wait to meet this little lady! We have two McAlister’s up here- one in the Willowbrook area and one in The Woodlands. I go there way more often than I’d like to admit, but still less than I did when we lived across the street from one in SC! Their sweet tea is the best. Let me know if you want me to bring you some when you’re home with the baby
So ready!! And so jealous of your McAlister’s proximity – I have been to the one in The Woodlands once. Don’t think I won’t take you up on that offer!! I def will.
The sweet tea is soooo good!
That is one gorgeous belly! Looks perfect, all other pregnant women should be jealous. Come on Baby Girl, don’t make them make you!
Love, love, love the belly pic!!! I wish I had taken more of those when I was pregnant. Hopefully Baby G will make her appearance before Monday, but if you do have to be induced, I bet things will happen fast since you’re already halfway dilated anyway; probably won’t take much Pit to get you going. Good luck with everything!!!!
