Yowza.

Today I had yet another weekly appointment at my doctor’s office.  She thinks I’ll have a baby in the next 48 hours!!! But she also thought I might have a baby before today’s appointment, soooo….guess we will wait and see.

Here’s hoping!

Oh, a little anecdote that my friend Katy said I should put on the blog…. I had heard that hooking yourself up to the breast pump could cause contractions to start (real ones, since I have fake ones all the time), so I decided to give it a whirl.  Why not, right??  So I bust out the Ameda Purely Yours and went to work.  I was sitting there, with a bottle in each hand, almost crying because hello – how did we go from double-fisting beer bottles to baby bottles in what seemed like an instant?  Shane was laughing and said, “Welcome to your new life.”  YIKES.  You just have to laugh at those moments.  It was an interesting sight, I’m sure.  We are a pretty private couple – I am happy to say that we don’t even use the restroom in front of each other, and yes I know we are in the minority on that.  Let’s leave a little mystery, people!  All of this baby stuff is definitely bringing us into more intimate moments – aaaaand I have to give birth soon.  Don’t even know why I bother with modesty these days.

Also, I was scared it would hurt but I’m happy to announce that it does not – never fear, ladies.  It’s not so scary after all.  :)

For my guy friends who read here, I’m sorry.  I promise to get back to race recaps as soon as I’m up and literally running.

In the next 48 hours?! Girl, I’m crossing my fingers and my toes for you! I cannot wait to hear all about your adventures. Even though you’re a private couple, I hope you continue to post funny stories like that. Hilarious! I can only imagine what awaits Billy and I…

Thank you lady! I guess I will share a bit more…I think it’s TMI but then I remember that’s what I like about most of the blogs I read – the overshares. ;)

Love this story! With my first, I’ll never forget the first time my husband saw me hooked up to to the dairy farm, I mean, the pump. He got over it pretty quick! Good thing, since I nursed both of my daughters through their first birthdays. I became a pro at pumping on the go, before races, even in airplane bathrooms. YUCK!

Good luck & best wishes for a smooth, safe delivery! Meeting your little one is going to ROCK your world, in the best possible way!

“Welcome to your new life”. Yeah, I had to laugh @ that one. Remember to tell Shane that in the very near future when you catch him holding up, staring and wondering how it went from thongs to “granny” panties.

And for what it’s worth, your mom and I visit the bathrooms separately as well. Who wants to be in there when your significant other is busy…….well, never mind.

Looking forward to meeting baby gins real, real soon. You’ll do great…… you always seemingly do, despite your anxiety and your apprehensions.

Yes, we are looking forward to meeting her too – SOON, I hope. Thanks for the words of encouragement!

Hey girl! Be careful with that. I was 1 week late before I was induced so I tried everything!! Nothing worked! I told the nurse I even tried pumping to bring on contractions. She was not happy with me!

Really?? My doctor told me to do the same thing though. I wonder why the nurse wasn’t happy w/you??

Could it be a Halloween baby?!?! Too funny about the pump – you are a champ though! Can’t wait to meet Baby Gins – she’ll probably come running or dancing out of the womb, taking after her momma!

We are thinking about you!
