The baby is the size of a honeydew.

No makeup, glasses, frump dress - it’s not a good look.

Total Weight Gain: I sat at 19 for most of the week, but now it’s safe to say I’ve hit the big 2-0 pounds. My doctor said I should gain 25-35 pounds, so I’m sure I’ll hit that range by the time she is here.  I weigh more than Shane now, which kinda sucks.  Oh well!!

Weekly Workouts: Workouts are still hard to make myself do. I’m just so uncomfortable. I took Monday off as per usual. Then on Tuesday we went on a walk with the dogs – I forced myself to “run” a little further so I hit a whopping 2 miles. On Wednesday morning swam 750 yards. Thursday was a 3 mile run (remember the jerk?) and Friday was a 1000 yard swim. I ran a 5K on Saturday and was pleased with the time – 33:54 (my goal was 35:00). I ran the entire first mile in 10:00 flat so was happy with that. Then ran 2 more miles at the picnic loop while Aimee bricked – I took a shortcut so I didn’t have to go MORE than 2 more miles. 5 miles for the day, and I think I overdid the 5K a little – I’m sore! On Sunday we went to 288 and swam about 1500 meters – that’s practically a mile, folks!

Maternity Clothes: Livin’ in ‘em. It’s getting depressing how tight my normal clothes are.

Sleep: Still not going well. The dogs have gotta go; there’s not enough room in the bed now!

Best Moment of the Week: We had a lot of fun times this week! I had my doctor’s appointment and found out the good news about my glucose test and the baby’s positioning. We also had a great time having dinner with friends.

Food cravings: Still loving watermelon. And chocolate pudding is officially the bomb.

Food aversions: None? Or everything sometimes. Hah.

Symptoms: Feeling “waddly,” leg cramps, swollen hands and feet.

Movement: Baby girl is having some parties in there!

“This week your baby weighs almost four pounds and could be up to 19 inches long. And though that’s a head-to-toe length, your baby is actually back to a curled-up position (you try standing up in those cramped quarters!). At 32 weeks pregnant, you’re likely feeling tapping and squirming instead of your baby’s signature rocking and rolling. That’s because, while comfy, your baby is a bit tight for exercise space right now. Your baby has also probably settled into the head-down, bottoms-up position in your pelvis in prepartion for birth. That’s because the fetus’s head fits better at the bottom of your inverted, pear-shaped uterus. It also makes it easier during childbirth if your baby comes out head first. Fewer than five percent of babies prefer the bottom-down (or breech) position by full-term. Don’t worry if your baby hasn’t assumed the head-down position yet. There’s still a good chance he or she will flip head-side-down before birth — even in the tight confines of your uterus.

While your baby is still getting nourishment through the umbilical cord, it won’t be long before you’ll be bringing on the breast milk or formula (and soon after, the mashed carrots and peas). In anticipation of that momentous transition to mouth feeding, your baby’s digestive system is all set and ready to go.

And because your baby is accumulating more fat, his or her skin is finally turning opaque (like yours), which means those see-through days are over. Though weeks away from D-day, your baby’s looking more and more like a newborn.

And speaking of that big day, hope you’re resting up for it — because your bambino certainly is. In preparation for that big first date with you, your baby is sleeping like a baby — with sleep cycles of 20 to 40 minutes long (which would also account for the decrease in movement you’re likely feeling these days). ” – What to Expect (www.whattoexpect.com)

Gender: It’s a girl!

What I’m Looking Forward To: Baby shower in Houston this weekend!! I am so excited! Can’t wait to see everybody!

What I Miss: Riding a bike, and running long – I am jealous of people’s training plans right now.

Next Appointment: 9/24

Don’t stress about weight gain. At some point know you are as healthy s you can be and that everyone’s body does its own thing during pregnancy! You’ll lose it you little skinny minny! But do know of you breastfeed, it falls off…..except 5 pounds. Hahah I heard this but thought that wouldn’t be me. Oh, but it is. Apparently the last few should drop immediately after weaning. Wwaahhhh

Good to know! I won’t sweat it. I figure my body will be different for awhile :( I assume you get used to it??
I’m trying not to sweat the gain in general. It’s hard being told all the time to worry about the scale and then all of a sudden when you get pregnant it’s like, “Oh, don’t worry about the scale!!” Know what I mean? Can’t help it.

You look great! I gained like 45 lbs hahaha and I was freaking out the last half of pregnancy bc of my weight. I know you get told it will all go away afterwards and its true! Happy for you and your family :-)

Thanks Barri!! You look awesome so I believe you! Haha. My mom gained a LOT of weight pregnant with me and lost it all (and then some, and she wasn’t even nursing), so I’m confident I can do the same. I appreciate the support.
Thanks so much, we are so excited!! :)

Ditto on the weight gaining advice above. By delivery, I’d gained 23 lbs- that was two weeks and 3 days ago, I’m not allowed to do anything more than “minimal walking” around the house (stupid emergency c-section restrictions that I’ve only half listened to) and half the weight is gone. I bet the weight will fall right off given what an active pregnancy you’ve had. And that baby girl appreciates your body gaining weight like it should! :) Feel free to tell any messages about female weight from media or dumb people to F off and shove it because you look beautiful and strong and like a kickass mom-to-be. Enjoy your shower!!!
