Total Weight Gain: 14-15 pounds. Saw a number I haven’t seen in a looooong time, since I was fat and miserable in NC.

Weekly Workouts: Took Monday off. Tuesday was a 6 mile run with Shea and prenatal yoga in the evening. Meant to work out Wednesday but the storms had other ideas. Ran 4.5 miles on Thursday morning with Aimee and went to Define Body in the evening. Friday morning I swam 1200 yards. Saturday was a 7 mile run in the morning and a 2 mile walk with my mom in the evening. Took Sunday off.

Maternity Clothes: Don’t need any more. Will make it to the end!

Sleep: On Thursday night I woke up every hour on the hour starting at 1am. It was weird. Finally rolled out of bed at 5:30 to swim.

Best Moment of the Week: My mom’s visit! We went to Torchy’s with Shane, Carlene, and Aimee on Friday night. So delicious. Then on Saturday after childbirth class she and I went shopping for new walking shoes for her, got mani-pedis at Isle, and ended up going to afternoon tea at Kiran’s – who knew? HIGHLY recommend. We were wiped after that; Shane made us all soup and salad for dinner. On Sunday we had Aimee’s gorgeous birthday brunch – Leslie is truly the hostess with the mostest!!!

Food cravings: Finally got the RG veggie burger :) Now all I want right now is one of Leslie’s homemade “hostess” cupcakes with chocolate ganache frosting. I will def eat one at lunch!!

Food aversions: None right now.

Symptoms: Feeling super pregnant and crazy and paranoid and emotional. I was feeling teary last night thinking that we only have 8 weeks until she is full term and she could come at any time after that; we just have so much left to do!!

She is still kicking around. She doesn’t like to move for anyone else. She’ll be going nuts but then when I tell Shane, my mom, whoever to feel she stops. It’s highly annoying.

“Are you dreaming about your baby? This week, your baby may be dreaming about you too. Brain wave activity measured in a developing fetus shows different sleep cycles, including the rapid eye movement phase, the stage when dreaming occurs. By now your baby, who weighs in at about two and a half pounds and stands – or lies – at almost 16 inches head to toe has added blinking to her growing bag of tricks. Other impressive new talents being added to your baby’s roster in the womb include coughing, more intense sucking, and perhaps most important, better breathing. The good news is that babies born this week, though premature, have an excellent prognosis because their lungs have reached maturity – so you too can breathe a little easier now. Of course, it’s still best if a baby doesn’t check out of that uterine hotel just yet – there’s still a lot of growing and maturing to do over the next 12 weeks.” – What to Expect (

Gender: It’s a girl!

What I’m Looking Forward To: Dinner with a big group of friends tomorrow night. Jess organized a dinner at Sonoma and I thought I couldn’t make it because of work travel, but now I will be in town for a leadership meeting. Work is going to dinner at a Brazilian steakhouse, so I don’t really feel bad missing since there is literally nothing for me to eat there. I mean NOTHING. The menu is 100% meat.

What I Miss: Running fast. My long run was depressingly slow.

Next Appointment: August 27th glucose test, yikes.

Estimated due date is November 11th, 2013!
