Staple foods and a crazy belly pic!

I was thinking a lot yesterday about my staple foods (ummm probably because we are OUT of some of them).  You know those foods that you ALWAYS have to have at the house, because when you’re hungry you just automatically reach for these things to graze on?  My personal favorites include:

  • String cheese
  • Bananas
  • Greek yogurt
  • Carrots
  • Hummus
  • Apples
  • Peanut butter
  • Kashi bars

I get really cranky when we’re out of the staples!!  Right now I really need a grocery trip like WHOA.  Yesterday at lunch (I usually come home for lunch) I was making  my standard PB&J with carrots and hummus but we were OUT of hummus.  I’m not even sorry that I ate 2 PB&Js.

This morning I knocked out some miles before work.  It was actually nice out – 76 degrees and overcast.  I ran along the bayou trail by our house and there were lots of runners and cyclists out, presumably due to the cooler weather!

I’m normally not one to take a “running shoes” pic;  usually I don’t even run with my phone but lately I have started putting it in my SPI belt just as a safety precaution – can’t be too careful with baby on board!

But really, I have to show what this looks like when I look down now.  OY.

I don’t usually wear all pink.  And you can’t see my shorts but they were green.  The belly is getting serious.

What are your staple foods??

I know you are super smart and know most safety precautions, but…just FYI, if something were to happen, or IF you didn’t get back in a certain time, tell hubs to track your phone via the GPS. The police should be able to track you. You can google how that works. I always told Ryan “I’m running X, will be back by X time, if not, call police, give them my number, and have them track me…then run out and look for me.” =) Be extra careful.

Yeah, the only problem with that is usually I don’t know if I’m going for 2 miles or 7 miles. It just depends on how I feel. Like last night, I thought I’d only walk a couple of miles but we walked 5! But I knew Shane wasn’t leaving til later this morning so that’s ok. I’m usually with a buddy, it’s rare that I get a solo adventure! Will be super careful!! :) The GPS is a good idea.
