Post is a little overdue, better late than never! AHHHHH to the bump!
The baby is the size of a spaghetti squash!
Total Weight Gain: 7 or 8 pounds, keeps fluctuating. I can’t tell a real difference in my body except my belly (duh) and my FAT FACE! Maybe arms and thighs? Hard to say.
Weekly Workouts: After returning stateside on Tuesday, I did an interval run Wednesday morning to gear up for the Run Wild 5K on Thursday. Aimee got a new PR! Woohoo!! It was fun, Steph ran it too. Rested Friday, ran 7 miles with my friend (and first TNT coach) Ally on Saturday, then rode 30 miles with Aimee on Sunday. My riding days are quickly coming to a close. I’m thinking 2 more weeks on the roads. Then I’ll officially be 6 months preg and will be resigned to the bike trainer, as promised.
Maternity Clothes: Still enjoying the dresses. Wearing some black pants RIGHT NOW.
Sleep: Always tired. And not sleeping as well these days. I wake up. I have weird dreams. It’s strange.
Best Moment of the Week: Hard to say. It was fun having Steph and her bf Matt visit. We also SAW the baby kick for the first time – you can see my belly move. She is pretty active in there.
Food cravings: Still sweets, but also fruit and CHEESE.
Food aversions: None right now – maybe mushrooms. Those still don’t sound great.
Symptoms: BACKACHE. The back pain has been the worst this week. Aces.
Movement: I can really feel her stretch around – at least it feels like stretching. Feels like she is stretching ME!
“Guess what? Your baby has finally broken the one-pound mark! This week, your sweetie is making more sense of the world as she develops the sense of touch. In fact, your little one’s grip is quite developed by now – and since there’s nothing else to grab onto in utero, she might sometimes hold on tight to the umbilical cord (don’t worry, it’s tough enough to handle it). The sense of sight is also getting more developed. Your fetus can now perceive light and dark much better than before (even with fused eyelids). Moving up from the eyes, the eyelashes and eyebrows are well formed now – and even more hair is sprouting atop that cute little head. You’d be quite surprised though if you could see your little one up close and in color. Hair at this stage of fetal development has no color, so it’s bright white.” – What to Expect (www.whattoexpect.com)
Gender: GIRL
What I’m Looking Forward To: Have an appointment on Wednesday morning! And we start childbirth classes on Saturday.
What I Miss: I’m about to start missing riding on the road. So it begins…
Next Appointment: July 10th
Estimated due date is November 11th, 2013!
