First and foremost, I have some very fun news.  I don’t know what alternate universe we’re living in, but I qualified for the USA Triathlon Age Group National Championship!!! I was shocked when I read the news, and honestly it all happened because my friend Jess qualified and forwarded me her email invitation.  I was trying to guilt her into going, saying I would definitely go if I had qualified.  Then I thought, “what if…” and checked my trash folder.  There it was…

Congratulations Christa Ginsburg. You have qualified for the Olympic-Distance race at the 2013 USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships on August 10 in Milwaukee, Wis.

WHAT THE HECK.  So looks like we might be making a road trip to Milwaukee next August!!!

That is nuts.  The sentence I keep seeing is – The USA Triathlon Olympic Distance National Championship is the nation’s premier amateur Olympic-distance event with the top age-group athletes from all 50 states forming one of the most prestigious age-group fields in the sport. Prestigious field?  Ok….yikes.

Anyway, that’s that.  What else have we been up to?  Well, I got my Chandon delivery and it included a “magnum” Reserve Brut.  I was excited.

To compare to normal (lame) bottles:

Last night was the Ugly Sweater Party at St. Arnold’s Brewery.  I really wanted to rock my Christmas Vacation t-shirt because I am super klassy, with a k.

Lastly, I want to point out an awesome gift my SiL Aimee got me awhile back – everyone keeps asking where it’s from, and she got it from a neat little Etsy store called Mile Stones.  COASTERS made from the bib I wore at Ironman Texas.  She is an awesome gift giver!  Love ‘em.

Functional mementos.  Thanks Aims!
