Pet of the Day – Dallas

Yes, I’m going to write a #BiSC recap post.  Of course.  But truth be told, I’m still recovering.  I’m in a post-flashing-lights-and-casino-noises-and-boozy-drinks phase.

So that comes later.

Today’s Pet of the Day is brought to you from DALLAS!  Um, while we’re on the subject, DALLAS.  Your website has very few pictures of the animals, making people less likely to adopt.  No wonder you have a 74.4% kill rate.  SERIOUSLY???

This is Missy.  She’s a young, medium-sized border collie mix.

I love her black-and-whiteness!!  Look at that sweet little snout.

This shelter’s kill rate is 74.4%.  You know what that means.  Everyone say goodbye to Missy.

OR! OR OR OR!!!!

….head down to DAS to give her a new home.

I love these posts. I think people have a tendency to say “well there are other problems that affect people, so really, animals?” but I absolutely believe that you can tell a lot about people and society by how they treat animals. (Gandhi definitely said it better.) We’re not doing a very good job, and I really hope your posts inspire someone to adopt a furball (or two!).

thank you! i believe the same thing. i hope that one of these will end up with a happy ending, yknow? even if just ONE is adopted it will have made a difference. sigh…
and one problem i have with people saying that is – MOST people are self-sufficient and can care for themselves. animals have to be taken care of, especially when they’re in shelters and presumed to be taken care of – not always the case.
