Hump Day Update Thing

by Christa on February 2, 2011

in Daily Digest,Just Nothing,Weekend Recap

It’s Hump Day.  Act….accordingly.  I guess.

This past weekend mi madre came into town – twas a blast and we spent some quality time together (we always end up staying up late gabbing…til like 3am).

I felt bad cancelling my coffee date with Laurie due to Mom’s visit…and I know she probably didn’t care at all, but here’s the thing:  my biggest pet peeve is when people say they’re going to do something and then DON’T.  I HATE that.  If you say you’re going to call me back, CALL ME BACK.  If you say you’re down for coffee, then DANGIT Christa, don’t cancel on coffee!

But hopefully I’ll get to make up our coffee date soon!

I’ve just noticed a lot of that lately – people not sticking to their word.  I have a friend, we’ll call her Jane (I love the name Jane, by the way…too bad it rhymes with Shane, we can never use it for bebbehs).  So Jane’s dating this guy who always says he’s going to do something and then at the last minute, CANCELS.  It’s one thing to not be able to commit to dinner, but it’s another to repeatedly commit to dinner at 8 all week long (including day of) and then cancel at 7:45.  LAME.

OR - hey employers and recruiters  - when you say you will call me back, please do.  I am actively seeking out a job I will love and if I express interest, it’s because I’m interested.  DC Princess’s post today couldn’t be more relevant.

I used to be a little shady and flake out (I still sometimes have to flake out, THROUGH NO FAULT OF MY OWN) but for the  most part I constantly try to stick to the things I say I’ll do.

That’s my rant for the day.  What else?

Oh, yeah – I’m working on a website for a friend’s hair salon.  I’ll be sure to share the finished product.  Now that I’m crackin my knuckles over Thesis theme, I can’t wait to start an overhaul for this site.  Not that I don’t love the one LiLu designed, but I need to practice, AND I need a new header – we don’t live in Charlotte anymore and we have TWO adorable puppies who need to be featured.

Oh, and thanks to LiLu’s Glee Workout (see her latest post) I’m finally back in it to gym it…and not in it to eat it.  I was such a glutton at the sis-in-law’s wedding food tasting on Sunday.  Time to get my ass on an elliptical and keep it there.

Want to share a rant?  Or…what have you been up to this week?  Yes, YOU.

Yeah, I semi-flaked on a friend yesterday when I didn’t call and showed up an hour late to hang out. I need to call her on Friday to apologize. I don’t actually think that she’s a stay at home mom, so she has all the time in the world, but I realize later in the day that I had treated her as though I thought that.

Bad Katherine!

Also, this gets a separate comment because it’s a separate thing…

Yeah you’re In it to gym it again. I will not have an out of shape roommate for BiSC!

I’ll be going to the gym as often as I can manage in the next few months, I expect the same from you!

Katherine – I know, I didn’t want to say so, but all this working out is just so I’ll look hot as sh*t at BiSC! haha. As far as the friend thing goes, we all shade out sometimes. I’m sure she understands.

Stephanie – yay! I’m so happy you’re liking it so far!

I have absolutely no patience for people who cancel at the last minute. Clearly, if it’s 15 minutes or 30 minutes before I’m supposed to meet someone, they already know they’re not gonna make it.

And yay to looking hot for BiSC!!

Hey, Terra! I know, most annoying thing ever…and RUDE, not to mention.

Here’s hoping I get a fab bikini bod for BiSC – I like alliteration, fyi.
